About us
Vision Mexico is a student organization dedicated to supporting both international and local students at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). We recognize that navigating university life can be challenging, and we are here to help. By collaborating with various departments at UTEP, including the International Recruitment area in the Office for International Programs, we aim to create a welcoming environment for all students.
Our mission is to provide a strong support network for students who are adjusting to a new academic environment, language, and culture. Whether you’re coming directly from a high school or university in Mexico, or have recently moved across the border, we are here to help you adapt, succeed, and thrive.
To achieve this, we:
- Host workshops and events focused on topics such as adapting to American classroom expectations, improving academic English, understanding university resources, and building confidence in a new cultural setting.
- Offer peer mentorship through our dedicated student officers and volunteers, many of whom have personally experienced this transition and are eager to guide others.
- Encourage academic and professional growth by introducing members to scholarship opportunities, student research programs, and internships both on and off campus.
At Vision Mexico, we believe that no student should feel alone in their journey. We are building a community that celebrates our shared heritage while empowering each member to embrace the new opportunities that come with studying at UTEP.
